King Asa
Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Maryland, King Asa, born Theodore Miles, has been immersed in music since his childhood. Growing up in a family with deep musical roots, he draws inspiration from legendary figures like his uncle, Ali Woodson, a member of the iconic group The Temptations. Inspired by his family's legacy and his own passion for music, King Asa became a producer, initially working with the DMV based group Partners In Rhyme (P.I.R.).
A pivotal moment in King Asa’s life came when he faced incarceration, which led him to find solace in music. Writing became therapeutic, helping him navigate emotional struggles, and from that point, he never looked back. Today, his music is a reflection of both his personal journey and the inspiration he draws from greats such as Rakim, DMX, Jay-Z, Rasheed, Jadakiss, and his uncle Ali. He credits his perseverance to figures like Wings, CEO of Endless Dreams, who encouraged him to never give up.
Asa has shared stages with artists like Young Dolph and Kevin Gates and collaborated with industry names including Collision (QC), Dax, Kevin Gates, and Fat Trel. His drive to stay in the industry is fueled by his dedication to his family, as he strives to provide for them and use music as a means of mental and emotional healing. For Asa, music isn’t just a career, it's a necessity.
Looking ahead, Asa aspires to expand his artistry into acting, with hopes of starring in movies, short films, and TV shows. Despite his growing success, he remains grounded and committed to his values of Life, Love, and Loyalty. King Asa’s authenticity and humility shine through in everything he does, and he promises to never disappoint his fans.
